Noted producer of Kannada films and NICE Company Chairman in controversy for a long time won the Assembly elections from Bidar on an independent ticket.

Despite of protest that Ashok Kheny should not join the Congress I political party, he was given congress flag and invited to the party at KPCCI office by Dr G Parameshwara, Energy minister DK Shivakumar was also present on this occasion.

Actor and producer of films like ‘Neene Bari Neene’, ‘Prasada’ joining the Congress I was opposed by former chief minister Dharam Singh son Ajay Singh, legislators Munirathna, Bhairathi Basavaraju and ST Somashekhar.

A complaint was registered at AICC President Rahul Gandhi on this development. The main reason for opposition on Ashok Kheny is charges against him in NICE infrastructure. In the past Congress I raised objections on Ashok Kheny projects and now admitting him to the party would lead to serious setback alerted a group of legislators in Congress I.
