The controversy regarding the song 'Besharam Rang' from Shahrukh Khan's upcoming film 'Pathan' doesn't seem to die down anytime soon. While some netizens are continuing to slam the actors and makers of the film, several veteran actors and filmmakers have shown their support for 'Pathan'. For the unversed, actress Deepika Padukone wore an orange bikini briefly in the music video and some people have assumed that it is an attack on Hindu sentiments.
Recently, seasoned actress Asha Parekh shared her two cents on the matter and stated that people are getting too narrow minded these days. She told AajTak, "Yeh bahut galat hai, film toh film hai. Jiska mool, maksad entertainment hai. Ab kisi actress ne, orange pehen liya, ya naam kuch aisa ho gaya toh usse ban kar rahe hai? Yeh nahi achha lagta hai."
She further added, "If people continue to boycott films on top of this, then it harms the industry as it hinders more films from being made."
"Bikini per bawaal nahi tha, yahan toh orange rang ki bikini ko lehkar sawaal uth rahe hai. Mujhe lagta hai ki hamara dimaag ab bandh hota ja raha hai. Hum bahut hi chhoti soch ke hote ja rahe hai, jo galat hai. Bollywood hamesha ke liye soft target raha hai."
Directed by Siddharth Anand and also starring John Abraham, 'Pathan' is set to release on 25th of January.
