Director Muthaiah made his directorial debut with ‘Kuttipuli’ and later directed some films including ‘Komban’, ‘Marudu’ and ‘Devarattam’. He is currently working on the final works of his upcoming film ‘Viruman’, a rural entertainer starring Karthi and Aditi Shankar in the lead roles.

‘Viruman’ is scheduled to hit the silver screens on the special occasion of Vinayagar Chathurthi (August 31). Notably, this film will mark the acting debut of leading director Shankar’s daughter Aditi. Now, there is news on Muthaiah’s next film after ‘Viruman’.

It is being reported that Arya is teaming up with Muthaiah on his next film. The upcoming venture is said to be based on a rural backdrop set around Madurai just like the maker’s previous flicks. Drumstick Productions, who bankrolled Arun Vijay’s ‘Yaanai’, will be producing the Arya-Muthaiah movie.

Renowned cinematographer Velraj has been roped in to the project and the location hunt is underway. It is also speculated that the film will start shooting in August. An official announcement regarding this movie will be made by the respective production house very soon. Stay tuned.
