The teaser of 'Magamuni' starring actors Arya, Mahima Nambiar and Indhuja Ravichandran has just released. Even in this short video, one is promised a suspense-filled film that will hold its own.

The video starts with a scene at a Lord Shiva temple reflective of the title 'Magamuni'. Following 'Mounaguru', director Santha Kumar has opted for another Lord Shiva based title in this movie, possibly picking on the theme of destruction. The next frame shows sinister prison shots which are accompanied by a hard-hitting dialogue. This talks about how when we were animals we only needed food and reproduction. It goes on to say that a few animals began to think. They then came to be known as humans. These humans developed traits of greed, jealousy, conflict, and revenge, which animals did not have. In this process, they lost their peace. This one idea opens up a world of possibilities in the film ‘Magamuni’.

The teaser poses another very interesting question which seems to indicate that sometimes good and bad cannot be differentiated easily. It suggests that based on the kind of life lived by an individual from birth to death, the descendants will have to bear the dead man’s good and bad deeds. The question is, are the descendants going to carry the good or bear the bad?

Filled with scenes depicting politics, murder, jail, gun battles and fights for life in the midst of romance and a family relationship, the film appears to offer a myriad of sequences that draw one’s attention. Fleeting shots of Arya as a saint and the mention of a plot of murder he carries out appear to compose the core of the film.

With a cynical touch, ‘Mounaguru’ director Santha Kumar presents us with an intriguing premise, leaving us wanting to know more. Arya has pulled off the various roles he plays in the film convincingly, be it that of a husband, a father, a criminal or a saint. Mahima Nambiar portrays a strong character that looks like one to watch out for. Arun Padmanaban’s cinematography lifts the story up with capturing visuals that seem apt for the genre. The music by Thaman also adds appreciably to the mood of the story.

The film produced by Studio Green seems to promise a worthy watch and is expected to release soon.
