Actor Arya has been abused by social media users for asking "what is Jallikattu" in a Twitter conversation a few weeks ago.

However the actor later clarified that he is not opposing Jallikattu and his comment has been misunderstood.

On Saturday (January 14) Arya visited Madurai along with his 'Santhana Devan' director Ameer and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja to express solidarity to the protests to repeal the ban on Jallikattu.

While addressing the press, Arya again reiterated his support for the conduct of Jallikattu. He also clarified that he has never been a part of PETA and expressed his regret that he was criticised even after giving explanation.

Director Ameer and Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja also extended his support for Jallikatu.
