Arvind Swamy garnered a huge pan Indian fan following after his gentlemanly lead roles in back to back Mani Ratnam films 'Thalapathy', 'Roja' and 'Bombay' and was much in demand in all languages. The ever handsome star however at the peak of his career decided to take a break to concentrate on his business shocking his fans especially those belonging to the fairer sex.
After a couple of decades, Mohan Raja convinced Arvind Swamy to make a comeback that too as the villain in his brother Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara starter 'Thani Oruvan'. The terrific performance that Arvind delivered was instrumental in the film achieving critical acclaim as well as blockbuster status at the box office.
While Arvind Swamy is currently playing the hero in several films including 'Vanangamudi' and 'Thalaivi' he is all set to turn baddie once again. Director Nag Ashwin of 'Nadigaiyar Thilagam' has approached him for the powerful villain role in his next project that has 'Baahubali' hero Prabhas in the lead role.
The shooting of the Prabhas-Nag Ashwin film was planned to take off by the end of the year but could now be moved further down the line due to the coronavirus pandemic. The star's current film 'Prabhas 21' directed by Radha Krishna Kumar and costarring Pooja Hegde will resume shooting after normalcy returns.
