Arvind Swamy started his film career as a chocolate boy hero in Mani Ratnam's 'Thalapathy', 'Roja' and 'Bombay'. At the peak of his stardom during the early nineties he quit films to concentrate on business. The handsome start then made a strong comeback as a villain opposite Jayam Ravi in 'Thani Oruvan' directed by Mohan Raja released in 2015.
Ever since that Arvind Swamy's market soared high and several film offers are going his way on a daily basis. However off late the 53 year old actor has declined acting offers and industry insiders were wondering why.
Now the hot news has come that Arvind Swamy has finished writing the screenplay for his debut movie as director. Sources say that he has approached sensational pan Indian star Fahadh Faasil to play the lead role and the 'Maamannan' star has given his nod. Based on this we can expect the officiail announcement on the Fahadh Faasil - Arvind Swamy project in early 2024.
Fahadh Faasil is currently playing the chief antagonist opposite Superstar Rajinikanth in 'Thalaivar 170' directed by T. J. Gnanavel. The film produced by Lyca Productions has music by Anirudh and boasts of the starcast of Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan and Fahadh Faasil.
