The demise of student Anitha who wasn’t able to pursue her dreams of studying medicine even after attaining exceptional marks in her 12th board exams created national sensation. Many students, leading names from the film and political fraternity raised their voice for the abolition of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Now that the Government has decided to set up coaching centres for NEET, actor Arvind Swamy has called on the state to name the said coaching centres after Anitha. He also opined that the debate over NEET and the introductionof the coaching classes must be seen as two separate issues.
“The debate on NEET itself may continue, but as long as it remains mandatory, coaching will help students compete. . . I wish they name the coaching centres after Anitha,” Arvind Swamy tweeted.
