The Arushi Talwar murder case created a media frenzy in the country after it was alleged that the 14 year old girl was murdered by her own parents.
The parents who both were doctors were put to life imprisonment in 2013 by a special CBI court following investigations.
The Talwars were also accused of murdering their live-in domestic help Hemraj who was found dead in the terrace. The police then touted that the murders were done with surgical precision finding the girl dead with slit throat and bludgeoned head in addition to Hemraj whose throat was found slit.
The Allahabad High Court today in its judgement has acquitted both the parents of double murder thus nullifying their conviction in 2008 and also freeing them from serving prison term.
The court said that the CBI investigation has failed to prove the accusation beyond doubt and that it was entirely only based on circumstantial evidence.
