The prestigious religious centre Sri Murugarajendra Brihanmath of chitradurga has announced Jayadevisri award for former prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and note theatre personality and actress of Kannada, Hindi and other languages Arundhati Nag, wife of late Shanker Nag has also been elected for this award.

On the occasion of 60th year Basava Chetana Jayadevasri memory the awards are presented on the first day of festival of Sharana Samskrithi.

Dr Shivamurthy Muruga Math has chosen KN Shanthakumar of Deccan Herald and Prajavani group for Shoonya Peetha Channabasava award. Researcher Dr SR Gunjal is another legend getting this prestigious award.

The award carries Rs.25000 cash, letter of appreciation of service and a memento. Thea wards will be given away on 31st of March.
