Nearly 150 supporting artistes of Kannada cinema have joined the Karnataka cinema technicians and workers federation for the lack of able support and medical aid from Kannada Film Artistes Association headed by rebel star Ambarish who is now the union minister of state for information and broadcasting.

The supporting artist wing headed by Bank Janardhan as President and Dingri Nagaraj as general secretary are now part of cinema workers. They get medical aid and other facilities now.

The reason why nearly 150 supporting artistes joined cinema workers federation is because the Artists Association was defunct from last seven years.
