Actor Arshad Warsi was recently seen sharing screen with Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon in the comedy flick 'Bachchan Pandey'. Despite having all the elements of a blockbuster like great cast, big budget and proper promotions, 'Bachchan Pandey' failed to become a box office success and it couldn't earn even 50 crores in first week of its release.
During a recent media interaction, Arshad talked about the film and shared that despite its commerical failure, it is still a good movie. According to a report in TOI, Arshad said, "It was a good film, but unfortunately it happened, some things work, some things don’t. I feel it just went through a bad patch, there were various things that made it not as successful as it should have been. It is a big film, it should’ve made a lot more money, but it is still not a loss, it covered its money."
Talking further, Arshad denied the role OTTs in failure of 'Bachchan Pandey'. He said, "No, I don’t think it is the OTT effect. Okay, I’ve got an answer for that, but I’m not going to say it. Let's not get into it, it is a different space.”
One of the main reasons behind the poor box office performance of 'Bachchan Pandey' was the release of 'The Kashmir Files' and 'RRR' in similar timeframe.
