Army chief Bipin Rawat has mooted a proposal of forming/creating an indigenous security infrastructure instead of importing arms and ammunition to enhance the country’s security.
“The infrastructure to be created ought to be based on ‘Ardha Shastra’ and other ideologies mooted by Chanakya of yore,” Rawat said while speaking at a seminar on military technology in the national capital.
“Each wing of the Army faces huge requirements which should be met on priority basis. Keeping in view the fact that wars in future would be hi-tech and fully modernized, we ought to prepare ourselves to face the worst,” Rawat remarked.
“With Government’s assistance, we can make use of available technologies in the most appropriate manner. We should reduce import of arms/ammunition from abroad and face wars in future with infrastructure available locally within the country. Creation of such in infrastructure should invariably be based on ‘Ardha Shastra’ and other ideologies of Chanakya of the mythological times,” Rawat concluded.
