Receiving taunts and being condemned for portraying bold political opinions is nothing new to Kamal Hassan. Kamal’s recent opinions on right leaning parties in a famous magazine’s column also did not fail to incite the actor’s ideological opponents.

Stating that once the right leaning political factions used to stir violence by propaganding debates, Kamal opined that now these political parties have resorted to direct violence. Kamal also added that a situation has been formed where they can’t claim to assert there is no Hindu terrorist. The actor also opined that soon violence will override peace talks.

Refuting Kamal’s statements Arjun Sampath of Hindu Makkal Katchi stated that the ‘Vishwaroopam’ actor understood who the real terrorists are and that is why he once decided to leave the country. Condemning Kamal’s left leaning principles, Arjun Sampath also demanded the actor to take back his statements. 

It is also notable that Kamal has received flak for his statements from BJP’s senior leader Subramanian Swamy.
