Director Vishnuvardhan, who rendered a romantic movie in Kurumbu, has switched over to action filled entertainer in Arindhum Ariyamalum.

A swift screenplay with all the commercial ingredients in right proportions makes the movie engrossing.

Jairam fame Navdeep and debutant Arya have come up with a good show while Prakashraj as usual steals the show in many places.

Arya, who plays the role of angry youth, has everything in him to make it to the big league. A remarkable show by him, as he along with Prakashraj, walks away with all applause.

Debutante Samiksha, looks average and has very little scope to show her skills as the story revolves around the emotional triangle involving Prakashraj, Arya and Navdeep.

Five Star-fame Krishna tries his hand at humour, and emerges successful.

The movie begins with Sathya Narayanan (Navdeep), who reaches Chennai from Nagercoil to pursue his studies. He comes across Sandhya (Samiksha), a college-mate, and falls in love with her.

One day, Kutty (Arya), a gangster, in a brawl with another gangster misses his target and ends up in shooting Sandhya.

Sathya takes her to a hospital. Meanwhile, he rushes to Assistant Commissioner of Police and informs that he can identify the culprit.

Waiting for an opportunity to arrest Adhi Narayanan (Prakashraj), a businessman racketeer and his son Kutty, the police officer ensures all protection for Sathya.

An enraged, Adhi decides to bump off Sathya. However after some strange turn of events, he comes to know that Sathya is his son.

He develops a soft corner for him and describes the story and persuades him to join his family. The rest is all a hilarious sequence of events that ends on a good note.

Yuvan Shankar's excellent music combined with gritty visuals by Nirav Shah is yet another highlight of the movie.

Vishnuvardhan shows promise in keeping the tempo alive and knows what to infuse when and how.

All said, Vishnuvardhan has got the pulse of the audience and has given a hardy entertainer which is sure to raise his stocks in Kollywood.
