While Kangana is currently busy with work on the biopic of Tamilnadu's late CM Jayalalithaa, reports have now surfaced that popular actor Aravind Swamy, who was last seen in Mani Ratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, has been roped in to play the role of legendary actor and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MGR, who had a significant impact on Jayalalithaa's life. Titled Thalaivi, the movie is directed by AL Vijay and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
According to a report from a news agency, "MGR and Jayalalithaa starred in 28 box-office hits between 1965 and 1973. While the makers needed a worthy actor to do justice to his role, another criterion was that the artiste be fluent in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi – languages in which the film will be made. So, they cast Arvind Swami in the role."
The report further added that the shoot for the film will begin in the first week of November and that Aravind Swamy is expected to join the crew on November 15.
