Actor Kamal Haasan taking the political plunge in Tamil Nadu is almost certain. The actor has been giving strong hints about floating a new party in the near future. He has also said he will meet political leaders across the country and get their valuable suggestions before taking a decision. A few weeks ago, he met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the latter's official residence in Kerala and had a discussion over lunch,
Now it has been confirmed that, Aravind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi will be visiting Chennai to meet Kamal Haasan today (September 21, 2017). Sources close to the Ulaganayagan said the actor and CM will be meeting in the former's Alwarpet residence over lunch. The meeting was planned after Kamal expressed his wish to meet Kejriwal when he had a telephone conversation with him.
Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party has a minor presence in Tamil Nadu politics. It contested in the 2014 General Election but stayed away from the 2016 Assembly elections. If Kamal who shares the common goal of wiping of corruption with AAP joins the party it would be a great fillip to the party in the state as it does not have any popular face as of now.
Though the agenda of the meeting is not officially spelled out, speculations are rife that Kamal and Kejri will be discussing the possibilities of working together in elections either by Kamal joining AAP or allying with the party to contest the elections.
