In the trailer for 'Aranya', Rana Daggubati's Bandev asks a reporter if she has got the guts to write a hard-hitting headline on humans encroaching into an elephant corridor. That's as punchline-y as punchline-y can get. Writer-director Prabhu Solomon has put up a jungle-based action drama about the story of a mahout who chases the tormentors of elephants.
A long wall has been built by the industrialist-politician nexus, preventing elephants from accessing their natural habitat. How Bandev, who is said to have been inspired by Jadav Payeng, an environmental activist, fights the forces is the crux of the story. Fittingly, this is what the trailer asks: "In the chaos of the jungle, a war is brewing. Trumpets roar as the elephants prepare for battle. Man or nature, which side will you be on?"
Vishnu Vishal has an important role, while Zoya Hussain and Shriya Pilgaonkar are part of the cast. The Telugu version has dialogues by Vanamali. The background score is by Shantanu Moitra and George Joseph. Action choreography by ‘Stunner’ Sam and Stun Siva will be awaited. The cinematography is by AR Ashok Kumar.
The film is titled 'Kadan' in Tamil, while the Hindi version is 'Haathi Mere Saathi'. The tri-lingual is set to hit the screens on March 26.
