Naatu Naatu from RRR recently created history when it earned an Oscar nomination in the Best Original Song category. The two-time Academy Award winner, has given a shout-out to MM Keeravaani and Naatu Naatu for earning an Oscar nomination.

“It is not easy to go beyond this prejudice. They have done a tremendous job. This happened, it is a huge achievement. People are not apologetic about dancing to a Telugu/Indian beat. This should happen again and again in every industry. When we become leaders, it will be amazing. MM Keeravani is an underrated composer. I tell my children that he has been working for 35 years and wanted to quit. Then his career started. I want RRR to win the Oscar,” he said in the interview.

Rahman also shared it on his social media handle. But a follower was quick to comment that the Andra people still hate Tamils though we tend to love everybody. AR Rahman who has been known for his boldness has replied to this tweet stating that we are all one family. He wrote, "We are all one family we could have misunderstandings …but we should stand for each other"

Coming back to RRR, it is an action drama that features Jr NTR and Ram Charan as the tribal leader Komaram Bheem, and the revolutionary Alluri Sita Rama Raju, respectively. The fictional saga, set in pre-independence India, revolves around their friendship and highlights their fight against oppression.
