It has been nearly 3 years since fans saw Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on-screen as he took a brief sabbatical from movies. It was earlier reported that director Atlee, who has given four massive hits in Kollywood, has signed up to direct SRK's next.

Meanwhile, the latest update from sources is that Oscar-winning music director AR Rahman has been roped in to compose the music for the much anticipated film. Official confirmation of the same is awaited. Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently working on his upcoming film 'Pathan' with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, is likely to start shooting for Atlee's film by the end of the year. It has also been reported that Shah Rukh Khan might play dual roles in the movie.

Speaking about the project, a source had earlier informed a news agency, "Atlee and Shah Rukh have been discussing a potential collaboration for two years now and have brainstormed on multiple subjects. They have finally fixed on an action film, which has SRK playing an investigating officer of a top Indian agency and a most-wanted criminal. The story revolves around these two characters who are worlds apart, their conflict and confrontation."
