Shruti Haasan has come out with her original track 'Edge'.  The actress, who has been a passionate singer for years, has delivered the English-language track much to the delight of the likes of AR Rahman.

On Saturday, the legendary music director Rahman took to Twitter to plug 'Edge' and said, "Check this out".  A delighted Shruti thanked ARR for the tweet.

Devi Sri Prasad, himself a super-talented musician, described the lyrics of the song as great and the singing by Shruti as "brilliant".  DSP added, "Wishing to see more of this side of you.  Keep rocking girl."  Shruti tweeted, "Thank you so so much Devi !!!! Your support has always meant the world to me (sic)."

Naga Chaitanya, who worked with Shruti on 'Premam', called it "super stuff".  He added, "..great to see this side of you ..about time!"

Written, composed and performed by Shruti herself, 'Edge' comes with a philosophy of its own: "The understating of destructive love within oneself and with others. A destruction that leads to strength and rebuilding. Un afraid to leave the empty spaces as they are - the edge is where we find ourselves," she writes.
