The most esteemed accolade in the music industry is the Grammy Awards like the Oscars for cinema. The 66th Grammy Awards took place today in Los Angeles and the Indian artists bagged three wins at the prestigious ceremony. Isai Puyal AR Rahman congratulated the winners on social media.
Shakti is an Indian music band comprising musicians Shankar Mahadevan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ganesh Rajagopalan, and Selvaganesh Vinayakram. Their new album, 'This Moment', clinched the Best Global Music Album Award at the Grammys. ARR, who won two Academy Awards for 'Slumdog Millionaire', posted a selfie with the Grammy-winning Indian artists.
Rahman captioned the iconic selfie, "It’s raining #GRAMMYs for India Congrats Grammy winners Ustad @ZakirHtabla (3 Grammys), @Shankar_Live (1st Grammy) and #SelvaGanesh (1st Grammy)" (sic). While the others including Shankar Mahadevan won their first Grammy, Zakir Hussain created history by bagging his third one. The band is being showered with praises now.
