The melodious voice of Bhavatharini swept the hearts of Tamils,” says AR Rahman!

Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja's daughter and famous playback singer Bhavatharini passed away on Thursday in Sri Lanka. She breathed her last after a long battle with cancer at the age of 47. Notably, she was in Sri Lanka for the Ayurvedic treatment for her cancer but met with an unfortunate fate.

Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman took to Twitter and expressed his condolences over Bhavatharini's death. He wrote, "The melodious voice of Bhavatharini swept the hearts of Tamils like a peacock feather. Her voice is still blooming in the air today. All the air vibrates and radiates throughout the space. We stand with you in this difficult time, musicians Ilayaraja, Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja."

Meanwhile, Bhavatharini's brothers Karthik Raja, Yuvan Shankar Raja and actor Subbu Panchu Arunachalam have reached the cargo section of the Chennai airport to receive Bhavadharini's body from Sri Lanka. According to a recent report, Bhavadharini's body arrived at the Chennai airport. In a little while it will be taken to Ilaiyaraaja's home in Thiagaraya Nagar.
