The Me Too movement in Kollywood is slowly beginning to get the attention of big names who are showing solidarity towards the victims and at the same time cautioning against it's misuse. Isaipuyal A.R.Rahman who is in US has broken his silence by opening up on the issue which is revolving around his long time collaborators Vairamuthu who has been alleged as a sexual predator by singer Chinmayi.

A.R.Rahman's statement reads “Been observing the #metoo movement… Some of the names have shocked me... both the victims and their perpetrators… I would love to see our industry become cleaner and respectful of women… More power to all the victims coming forward!!”. He has added "In all my endeavors my team and I are committed to creating an environment where everyone finds a safe creative space to bring their best, evolve and succeed.”

However Rahman has also cautioned that“Social media offers great freedom for victims to speak up, however we should be careful in creating a new internet justice system, in case it’s misused,”.
