Vijaykanth has finally stated that April 14th will be the day for his entry into politics.

He disclosed that his fans who won in many places for the panchayath elections will enter the electoral fray in the coming general elections to the Assembly.

He also made it clear that in all his future films there would be dialogues with political messages, which he said, was like `pickle’.

Speaking about Gajendra , he said that this was his 145th film and this film was the one with highest number of prints.

Vijaykanth acquired the remake rights of Simhadri the Telugu film. At that time V A Durai came forward to produce it. During the production some problems cropped up but it was solved. The distributors were keen to release the film on Vinayaka Chathuruthi day since the title Gajendra was apt. He denied that PMK had effected cuts in the film. He said that censors gave six cuts for double meaning dialogues and violence
