Apparao Driving School

The best thing about Rajendra Prasad is he knows his strengths and weaknesses. He is a practical man who doesn't attempt anything that he is not comfortable with. It is this simple approach that has given him a long run in the industry.

Rajendra Prasad has been accepted as a comedy hero and he has been this flogging this image to as long as he could. Appa Rao Driving School is another of his famous comedy capers. Rajendra Prasad has had some very good success over his last few movies. He is also one of the actors in very high demand (his rate has been around Rs.40 lakh and producers have had little to complain with him as the hero). His films take very little time to make.

Appa Rao Driving School is a good example. Launched in July, the film is now almost ready for release.

But this is one fun film that has some serious message too, says the director. The film, as the title makes it clear, is about an historic driving school (established in the 19th century). The school was started even before automobiles came into vogue. According to the story, the school initially taught its pupil Tonga driving, then moved on to other carriages and then finally to cars and others.

The hero who inherits this school has to adhere to one strictly laid rule: Only ladies will be taught here.

Why? Well, that is the story all about, says the director. Interwoven into this intriguing tale is the love angle of the two heroines Preeti Jingiani and Malavika.

Both off them have been off Telugu screens for some time for whatever reason. But both are pretty gung-ho about the project.

Apart from the comedy, the music by Ghantadi Krishna is said to be another highlight of the film.

The film is set for September release.

Rajendra Prasad will be hoping that Appa Rao Driving School will help him to be in the driving seat as far his career itself is concerned. For the two heroines, the driving school will hopefully give a new direction and acceleration.
