The Amma` canteens in Tamil Nadu is the source of inspiration of JD S political party Appaji Canteen`, the Congress I is coming up with Indira Canteen` – all in the wake of State Assembly slated for mid of next year is not ruled out.

In the name of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, JDS party set up Appaji Canteen` was evolved by MLC and gold merchant TA Sharavana.

Appaji Canteen with a price list of Rs.3 for coffee, Tea, Rs.5 for Idli, Vada, Kesari Bath, Rs.10 for Ragi Ball, Anna Sambar etc had attendance of over 3000 people on the inauguration day on Wednesday.

Former Prime Minister and JDS supreme HD Deve Gowda came with his wife Smt Chennamma, Pattanayakanahalli Namjadootha Swamiji inaugurated the first branch. On the first day the Ragi Ball and Sambar was served free.
