Former President of India and the country's most influential personality in the past few decades the late APJ Abdul Kalam's aide Ponraj has joined the Makkal Needhi Maiam party led by Kamal Haasan. He has immediately been posted as the party's vice president.

The former assistant and scientific advisor of the late President of India said he was with Rajinikanth for the past three years formulating plans to redeem Tamil Nadu from its current situation and since the Superstar could not enter politics due to his health he accepted Kamal's call.

He further added that Kamal is the leader who follows the vision of Kalam and even started his political journey from his house and he is hopeful of fulfilling the late visionary's dream.
