Following a recent order by Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the police department has started issuing e-passes to people with health and other emergencies.

A portal has been launched for the purpose: https://citizen.appolice.gov.in.

Here are the three categories of people for whom the facility is available:

Those looking for travel within the State. Those from the State looking for travel outside. Those looking for entry into Andhra Pradesh from other States.

Those applying for an e-pass to travel by their own vehicles have to comply with a condition. They must sign a declaration stating that their travel is meant for an emergency purpose. Violators are liable for punishment. That is, if your travel is not for the stated purpose, you will be punished and made to pay penalty.

The applicants shall also download the Aarogya Setu app mandatorily.
