The other day, Andhra Pradesh Cinematography Minister Perni Nani said that only those theatres that were found to have floated rules were seized in the State. It's another matter that many more theatres have been closed down due to low ticket prices.
On Thursday, the government gave a breather to the seized theatres. It has allowed them four weeks to get their paperwork done. They will have to give an undertaking to the Joint Collector of the respective district and resume operations immediately.
In all, almost 83 screens will resume their operations in 9 districts. The government seems to have understood the concerns of distributors and exhibitors in the State for now.
Meanwhile, there is no much conclusive progress on the front of ticket prices. Perni Nani is on record stating that no special treatment will be accorded to SS Rajamouli's 'RRR'. It is also understood, implicitly, that 'Radhe Shyam', too, won't receive any special favours in terms of benefit shows, more ticket prices, etc.
