Indian-Canadian artist AP Dhillon was in the news at the Coachella festival, though possibly not for the reason he'd have liked to be there. Despite the best acclaim he had so far experienced for his musical genius, his recent show evoked controversy over social media platforms.
Dhillon posted a video of himself smashing his guitar during the performance on his social media account on Monday. Along with the video, he captioned, "Brown Munde has left the dessert."
He even shared the stage with fellow artist Shinda Kahlon. He reacted to the post by dropping a guitar emoji in the comments section. However, it's likely that netizens have already begun to troll the act of Dhillon smashing guitars during the show.
Many people criticized the act, especially for the cultural values, with great disappointment at seeing an Indian artist, Dhillon, doing that. One wrote, "Respect the things that bring you to this stage," while another questioned, "Did you become cool?" Others asked about the aesthetics of the act, one asking, "And you think doing this looked good (sic)?
