As on August 1 (10:00 AM), Andhra Pradesh logged 9,276 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours. This is a slight reduction from the previous three days during which cases shot up more than 10,000 cases without a respite.
About 60,797 samples were tested. As many as 12,750 were discharged. Fifty-eight deaths took place in the 24-hour period.
Here are the cumulative numbers:
Positives: 1,47,314
Discharged: 73,719
Deceased: 1,407
Active Cases: 72,188
Now that we are in a new month, analysts and media reports have started doing number-crunching. And the bad news from AP has been phenomenal in July. An NDTV report says that AP reported as many as 1,26,337 coronavirus cases in July. This was by far the worst performance by any State in India. Unarguably, East Godavari has been the worst-hit district in the Telugu State.
AP's recovery rate stands at 45.3%, while the positivity rate stands at 7.22%.
