As on August 3, at 10:00 AM, Andhra Pradesh logged 7,822 positive cases in the past 24 hours. As many as 5,786 got discharged. There were 63 deaths, while 45,516 samples were tested.
Fatalities: District-wise break-down in the past 24 hours: West Godavari (11), Vizag (9), Prakasam (8), Nellore (7), Srikakulam (7), Vizianagaram (4), Chittoor, Krishna, Kurnool (3), Anantapur, East Godavari, Guntur and Kadapa (2).
Here is the cumulative figure for each category:
Positives: 1,63,691
Discharged: 85,777
Deceased: 1,537
Active Cases: 76,377
On Sunday, the State surpassed Delhi to become the third-most affected State in the country. This came on the back of a phenomenal surge in caseload throughout July. "In the last 13 days (as of August 1), AP registered a staggering 96,485 cases. Of these, 39,912 infections were reported in the past four days," a report by Scroll.in said.
