After such stylish hits like 'Big B' and 'Sagar Alias Jackey', director Amal Neerad is now ready with his new movie 'Anwar' featuring the young superstar Prithviraj in the lead. The director who had been with underground dons celebrating notorious acts with his previous movies with Mammootty and Mohanlal, will now take an U turn by telling a plot based on anti-terrorism.

The movie will have Prithviraj as the title character who is an educated guy who falls into terrorist activities based on religion. The movie will tell about the unending clutches that surround the young man when he plans to get out of them some how. It will also debate on viewpoints and on how one man's right remains the wrong path for many others. Amal who is from Kochy says that when Kerala is being seen as a terrorist hub, there is no need for him to go to Kashmir to show terrorism as he has something in his own backyard.

The film will also star National Award-winning Tamil actor Prakash Raj as a determined police officer in hot pursuit of a band of terrorists and actor/producer/director Lal, as a religious leader who recruits men for his activities. Mamtha Mohandas too is paired for the first time opposite Prithviraj for this movie. Scripted by R Unni and Sreejith D, the movie will be cinematographed by the director himself.

Prithviraj who even injured himself while working on an action scence for the movie is in all praise for the director. The young actor believes that the movie which connects well with the young generation is all set to do well.

Produced by Raj Zacharias under the banner Celebs & Red Carpet, the movie is based on a plot by Amal Neerad and R Unni. The music and background score is by Gopi Sundar has created an immediate connect with the young people. Vivek Harshan handles the editing of the movie. The shooting which began last April is complete.

Anwar will hit the screens in October 2010.
