Anushka Sharma maintained their romance under secret before her 2017 marriage to cricket player Virat Kohli. Recently, social media influencer Freddy Birdy told a story on Instagram about interviewing Anushka early on in her relationship with Virat.

Freddy related how he had flown from Delhi to Mumbai to see Anushka at her penthouse. She was "absolutely beautiful," "completely unpretentious," "funny, normal, and utterly relaxed," he said, and "talkative in the nicest way." Freddy's driver pushed him to find if Anushka was seeing Virat during the interview. Curiosity guiding him, Freddy asked her about it. Showing her acting abilities, Anushka claimed not to know the question exists.

But as Freddy listened on the phone to Virat flirting and planning dinner with Anushka, he knew the truth. Respecting her privacy, Freddy decided to keep the secret and refuted the relationship when his driver asked about it.

Anushka answered Freddy's Instagram post with heart and embrace emoticons; Freddy reacted with glittering heart emojis. Journalist Barkha Dutt also responded with red heart emoticons, noting Freddy's "Barkha Dutt instincts," which he answered with additional red heart emojis. Actor Aparshakti Khurana said, "only love and blessings for them and your storytelling."

In 2016 Anushka and Virat began dating; the following year they married in a private wedding in Italy. Their children are son Akaay and daughter Vamika. Virat thanked Anushka after declaring last week his retirement from T20 cricket. Anushka is filming Chakda 'Xpress next.
