Anushka Shetty’s Bhaagamathie is being remade in Hindi and it is titled Durgavathi. Starring Bhumi Pednekar in the lead and titular role, Akshay Kumar, Vikram Malhotra and Bhushan Kumar are presenting this film while G Ashok, the man who directed Bhaagamathie is helming the Hindi remake. This is one of the most-awaited films of the year.
It would have been nice with Anushka would have been playing the lead role in the Hindi remake also. But unfortunately, the actress wasn’t approached for the remake. This is not what we say, but actress Anushka herself has said.
“I was not approached for the remake in Bollywood. But director Ashok, Pramod and Vamsi (producers of UV Creations) told me that they were approached for the remake rights in Hindi. I said I had no problem and in fact I was happy as I felt that it was going to be made in one more language. Also, it is helping Ashok to try his luck in other industry,” said the actress.
Anushka even said that she bumped into Bhumi Pednekar once and the Shubh Mangal Saavdhan expressed happiness in being part of such an amazing film. Also, she said Bhumi asked her some queries about the film and they discussed some nuances about it.
