In a recent chat with Tanmay Bhatt, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recalled the time when he was sort of kidnapped by a gangster. Since he is know for writing and directing crime dramas based on real life, criminals and gangsters often approached Anurag requesting him to adapt their stories on big screen.
Recalling an incident which happened after the release of 'Satya' (1998), Anurag shared how he was taken to a Christmas party of a gangster. He said, "Two people came to my house and said you will have to go with us. I asked them who they were and they just said I will have to go with them. It was a Christmas party of some gangster. They made me sit on a throne. Put a few kids on my lap. Clicked some photos, fed us food, wished Merry Christmas and sent me back home."
Anurag, alongwith Saurabh Shukla, was the writer of Ram Gopal Verma's crime classic 'Satya' which starred Manoj Bajpayee, JD Chakravarthy and Saurabh Shukla among others. Further in his interaction with Tanmay, Anurag Kashyap revealed how similar instances also happened with Manoj Bajpayee and Saurabh Shukla around that time.
