Few days back, actor Abhay Deol slammed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap for spreading lies about him and called him a toxic person. For the unversed, the duo collaborated on 2009 film 'Dev D' and back then Anurag had told media that Abhay demanded to have five star hotel room during shoot even though they were working on a shoestring budget. According to Abhay, this was a blatant lie which caused a rift between the duo. The actor even stated that he hasn't watched an Anurag Kashyap film since then.

In response to Abhay's recent statement, Anurag has offered an apology for his behaviour and even praised the actor's performance in the recent Netflix series 'Trial By Fire'. The filmmaker told Mid-Day, “It is okay if that is how he feels. Everyone has his own version of the truth. Maybe he felt attacked about what I had spoken about him earlier. I have personally apologised to him for hurting his feelings.”

Anurag further added, "What I said was what he was like in the past. We all evolve with time. He has done a great job in Trial by Fire. I think it is time to celebrate his strong performance rather than playing the ping-pong of who said what.”
