Maverick Bollywood filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap has quit Twitter and deleted his account with his last two posts suggesting threats due to his political opinions on the ruling government It may be recalled that Kashyap was one among the fifty prominent personalities in India including Mani Ratnam and Revathi who wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Modi to stop the growing communal hatred in the country which results in lynching of hundreds.
Anurag Kashyap's last two tweets before he deleted his account are 1) ""When your parents start to get calls and your daughter gets online threats you know that no one wants to talk. There isn't going to be reason or rationale. Thugs will rule and thuggery will be the new way of life. Congratulations everyone on this new India & hope you all thrive," 2) "Wish you all the happiness and success. This would be my last tweet as I leave Twitter. When I won't be allowed to speak my mind without fear than I would rather not speak at all. Good bye,".
On the work front Anurag is said to be acting in 'Vikram 58' directed by Ajay Gnanmuthu who also helmed his Tamil debut 'Imaikka Nodigal' starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.
