Exactly a decade back on 4th July 2008, Sasikumar made a towering debut as hero and director with his 'Subramaniapuram' a trendsetter and text book for the rural gangster flick. The film costarred Samuthirkani, Jai, Swathi, Ganja Karuppu with James Vasanthan debuting as music director.

Bollywood's celebrated filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has lauded Sasikumar as an inspiration and 'Subramaniapuram' as the best film he has seen in this decade. His text to Sasi is "It’s been ten years since you made the classic that inspired me and now you are an Actor .. gimme more"

Sasikumar has replied "wishes from my favorite director n friend...thank u sir, soon il start my direction" to which Anurag had responded with one word..."Waiting". Now folks thats the conversation between two amazing filmmakers of modern Indian cinema.
