Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has always been vocal about his love for films in any languages, and he often watches Tamil movies as well, besides also making his debut in Tamil, playing the villain in Ajay Gnanamuthu directorial Imaikkaa Nodigal, playing Lady Superstar Nayanthara's villain.

The director had watched Pa.Ranjith's Kaala, starring Superstar Rajnikanth, Nana Patekar, Eswari Rao and Huma Qureshi recently, and had appreciated Ranjith and invited him for a feast. It has been said that Ranjith and Anurag Kashyap discussed on the politics spoken by Kaala and the technical finesse of the movie.

Anurag had reportedly said that he wants to work soon with Pa Ranjith, who has been a director who speaks out bold and loud about Dalit politics. Following this, Pa Ranjith also tweeted photos from their meet, and captioned it "Dear Anurag Kashyap, I have been a big fan of your films. Happy to have spent this evening with you. I am glad you liked Kaala. Thanks for the conversation and the great food." With the camaraderie displayed by the two directors, one can expect that they might unite soon for a project.
