Shahrukh Khan's latest film 'Pathaan' has tunred out to be the most successful flick of his career on box office and it is also a good sign for YRF who are trying to build a integrated universe of their top action espionage films. The success of 'Pathaan' is monumental since it also had to overcome the negative publicity and boycott demands. Actor Anupam Kher, who often denies the significance of boycott in a film's failure recently spoke about 'Pathaan' and this issue.
In a recent interview with DNA, Anupam Kher stated, "Aap trend dekh ke thodi picture dekhne jaoge. Koi bhi nahi jaata trend padh ke. Agar aapko trailer aacha laga toh aap jayege film dekhne. Jab picture aachi hai toh duniya ki koi takat nahi rok sakti. Log toh vengeance se jaate hai ki ‘mujhe toh dekhni hai film.”
The veteran actor further added, "The audience never boycotted cinema. We had gone through the pandemic, there were lockdowns, and people were asked to sit in their houses. This has happened after 100 years or something.”
