Senior Congress leader Sajjan Kumar was on Monday found guilty in the case of the killing of five members of a family in Delhi during the anti-Sikh pogrom in 1984 a day after the assassination of Indira Gandhi. The notorious Congressman has been sentenced to life in jail by the High Court in Delhi.

The court has asked him to surrender by December 31.

Victims such as Jagdish Kaur and Nirpreet Kaur have fought for justice for 34 years. About 3000 Sikhs were butchered by Congressmen-led "genocide" after two Sikh bodyguards killed Indira, then India's Prime Minister.

"Now when it's clear that Sajjan Kumar was part of 1984's 'Mob Lynching', Rahul Gandhi should clear whether his statement of 'No Congressman was involved in 1984 riots' still stands and he doesn't believe in court's judgment," Sushant Sinha, a journalist, said.
