The debutant director Shanker has shown high degree of skill in `Antharathma' understanding the requirement of the audience who are fed up with routine kind of films. He has mixed the imagination and reality that might be scientifically wrong but the entertaining elements are a good supper to the audience. Director Shanker is vastly influenced by 1990 release Hollywood film `Ghost' (written by Bruce Joel Rubin and directed by Jerry Zucker) and `Chamatkar' (Shahrukh Khan and Naseeruddin Shah) Hindi film.

Cinema is the business of entertainment. Even in business for this kind of film Shanker with his array of friends grabbed the attention of audience via selling coupons of over one lakh of Rs.100 (that included audio CD, entry ticket to watch the movie plus coupon holders would be part of the lucky dip that is worth Rs.25 lakhs). He is the benefactor of this attempt because the well made film would definitely get the mouth to mouth publicity as there is already assured audience for him.

The redeeming features of this film are the excellence in cinematography, graphic work, two fabulous tunes, Umasri's comic performance and young Mithun and Rohan Gowda living up to the expectations. The screenplay, dialogues and mixing of good elements of a commercial cinema director Shanker has gained momentum from his first film.

Shyam (Mithun Tejaswi) a high ranking bank employee married to Mahi (Vishaka Singh) is depressed with a bad dream finds a stunning balance in his bank account next day. By mistake Rs.14 crores has been deposited to his account. He is baffled and he discloses this secret to his colleague and good friend Rohan (Rohan Gowda). The problem starts now. Shyam is murdered and he remains a ghost because he deeply loves Mahi. He does not want anything to happen to Mahi. Now Shyam can see everything but he is not traced or felt by anyone. The ghost of Shyam knows the ulterior motive of his friend and decides to do something for it. Shyam learns some trick from another ghost (Rangayana Raghu) that has mastered the art of experiencing the feel. It is time for Shyam to attack Rohan his friend without coming in front of his eyes. How Shyam protects Rs.14 crore, handed over to Orphan blind home, whether he is able to touch and talk to his wife are other interesting parts of the film, you have to watch in the theatre.

A character artist like Umasri stealing the show is a wonder. The national award actress in `Gulabi Talkies', Umasri range in this comedy track is high point of the film. Mithun Tejaswi has been exceptionally good. This is a different role for him in his career. Vishaka Singh has nothing much to do. Rohan Gowda attracts from his physique. Rangayana Raghu has no challenging role.

It is Giridhar Diwan the music director and cinematographer Sundarnath Suvarana who have made the film reach the heights in quality. The graphic addition is also another beauty. Lolalola Giridhar Gopala..song is the lovely song of the film that would remain in the memory for long.

Go watch this film for different experience.
