'The Kashmir Files' is well on its way to amassing a Nett figure of Rs 250 Cr. Had it not been for 'RRR', the film would have been billed to mop up more than Rs 280 Cr.
Meanwhile, a raw and moving film on the Moplah carnage in Kerala that happened in 1921 can become another 'Kashmir Files', Netizens are saying. They have also given the imagined film a title: 'The Moplah Files'.
What is the Moplah pogrom about? Islamists in Kerala raised an army of 60,000 with the aim of establishing the Caliphate during the Khilafat agitation. As per a poster shared by Upword, more than 1500 Hindus were killed and more than 20,000 Hindus were forcibly converted to Islam during the Moplah genocide.
In a recent Firstpost column, columnist Gopal Goswami wrote that a Malayali film director has already revealed plans to make a film on the Moplah Hindu massacre.
