Actress Mumtaz Sorcar made her Bollywood debut with the film 'Saala Khadoos' where she played a boxer. Now five years later, she's gearing up to play yet another sportsperson. Mumtaz is going to play a cricketer in an upcoming sports drama and since the lockdown has halted the filming, she is utilising the time by prepping for the role.
During a conversation with ETimes, Mumtaz shared, "Currently the shooting is not happening due to the pandemic and the lockdown. Once things get normalized, we’ll start the shoot again. It’s a film on cricket and I’m super excited to be a part of it! I can’t divulge anything more about the story right now but the character I have been offered is super special and I am proud to do this film."
Talking about influence of sports in her life, the actress shared, "I was quite active in sports during my school days. I had even won a number of gold medals at YMCA. But cricket was one that didn’t really grab my attention. It was one game that failed to excite me. I know it sounds awkward since the whole nation is crazy about cricket. Now, of course, I find the game interesting. I have played it. I have also trained for it. I like the game more these days."
