Malayalam actor-director Anoop Menon's Facebook page was hacked on May 31, following which the actor took to his other social media handles to alert his followers. After reaching out to the cyber cell, the actor's account has been finally recovered. Confirming the same, the actor wrote, "So finally, got my Facebook page back. A big thank you to ADGP Manoj Abraham, Mr. Shefeen Ahamad IG Odisha, the Facebook authorities, and the cyber dome experts Sudheesh and Anand."
Though the account has been retrieved, the hackers had allegedly deleted some of his posts and also lost over four lakh followers. "The hackers apparently have deleted my posts of last six months and also took away 4 lakh of my followers. This page which had 15 lakh friends, now stands reduced to 11 lakhs. As per the recommendations of the cyber dome and Facebook experts we have strengthened our security system. I sincerely request you all to take the two-factor authentication process in all your phones since hacking is now so rampant. Will soon come live just to verify that it is me myself who is managing this and not the hackers … Thank You all for enduring those funny posts that the hackers have been uploading… with lots of love… see yu (sic)” the actor wrote.
On the work front, Anoop will be next seen in ‘Padma’ and '21 Grams'.
