Keerthi, daughter of veteran character artiste Annapurna, today committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan at the latter's Srinagar Colony residence.  As per police statements, Keerthi committed suicide because of her daughter's "health issues".  The Banjara Hills police are currently investigating the case.  

She had been living far from her husband, who lives in Bengaluru.  Reasons for living separate from her husband are not known.  She was married in 2013.

Some family members have told a TV channel that Keerthi's young daughter can't speak.  Her disability had been the cause of Keerthi's depression.  Annapurna reportedly counselled her daughter several times, saying that the daughter would be able to speak as she grows up.
