Superstar Rajinikanth was very enthusiastic to portray a full fledged rural role after a long time in 'Annaathe' and completed many of his scenes before the coronavirus lockdown. If the unfortunate pandemic had not occurred the entire shooting would have been over in April itself and the film would have been released by now.

There is a very interesting update on 'Annaathe' which is that Rajini during the lockdown has thought off many punch dialogues that could be used in the film. When he conveyed the same to director Siruthai Siva he found them perfect for the scenes and readily agreed to use all of them in the film.

The 'Annaathe' team according to our sources is not keen to begin shooting Rajini's portions until the coronavirus scare is completely gone and are will to wait however long it takes. Sun Pictures has already spoken to Rajini that he can come back to the sets only when he feels right about it.

'Annaathe' has music score by D. Imman and has the ensemble cast comprising of Rajinikanth, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Soori, Khusbhu, Meena, Prakash Raj and Jackie Shroff.
