Superstar Rajinikanth started shooting for his new movie 'Annaathe' on 18th December 2019 and work went at a marathon pace at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad and plans were on to shift to Kolkata and Pune in March 2020. However the coronavirus pandemic forced a long break and once again the crew assembled in Hyderabad on December 16th 2020.
After five days of continuous shoot, the 'Annaathe' team once again stopped work after a few crew members testing positive for coronavirus. Rajini was also hospitalized for fluctuating blood pressure levels which also influenced his decision to quit politics due to his health condition.
Now once again after the break the shooting of 'Annathe' has reportedly resumed in Chennai on grand sets erected and is planned to continue for the next thirty days. The team will also then move to Pollachi for another major portion. But latest reports suggest that there has again been a postponement suddenly and sources add that the rising coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu and Rajini's health condition are the reasons. We will have to wait for official confirmation.
'Annaathe' is directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by Sun Pictures with D. Imman scoring the music. The principal cast comprises of Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Khusbhu, Meena, Soori, Prakash Raj and Jackie Shroff. The release has already been officially announced as November 4th.
